Marketing Learnings from Jessie Paul Workshop at TiE

1. Use social media at its best
2. Use videos. People love watching videos.
3. Be a superlative. You can always slice and dice your achievements to make it a superlative. The context does not matter as much as being the best or first matters.
4. Win awards. Apply for awards if you are a start-up.
5. Give awards. People crave recognition. Organize a focussed event.
6. Share what you know. It is not always good to hide all that you know. People come to know things anyway. If you tell them, they feel happier about it.
7. When it comes to price, be the cheapest or the costliest. Anywhere in between, you will find your customers confused.
8. Anything on twitter lasts for not more than an hour.
9. Look for humour in what you talk to your customers. Humour makes people interested in you.
10. Service firms, market through individuals, marketing your company would take more time to build your brand. People like to talk to people. People like to sell to people. People like to buy from people. Thats what service sales are about.
11. Talk about big numbers. People look forward to put numbers in publications.

My Ideas for a Creative services firm:
1. People love to see creative stuff. They like to hang on and discuss about it.
2. You get free marketing when you showcase your creativity. So, marketing is the easiest and effortless.
3. Wear a custom created T-shirt showcasing your talent and brand when you are going out to an event to market yourself.
4. Fill the lives of people hanging around you with lots of creative stuff for them to relish. One of these days, they will remember you.
5. Use the Google Page Rank algo with your Marketing. Connect to brands most popular and your popularity would automatically increase.
